About Me

Hi! I'm Heba, not Heather. The proud maker and owner of Don't Call Me Heather LLC. DCMH is my way of reclaiming my identity as a Queer Muslim Palestinian woman living with chronic illnesses and disabilities. DCMH is all about creating a welcoming environment to all, especially to those who've ever felt “othered” or like they didn't belong. DCMH means embracing your identity, living your truth and not living for the sake of “fitting into society”. I don't fit into societal norms, nor do I plan on changing.
I hand make all my products from micro-crochet, crochet, embroidery and bead art. I make all kinds of cute & functional finds. Everything from accessories to garments, bags to wall art, etc. Every step of my art making process keeps sustainability in mind and upcycle materials where I can. My micro-crochet earrings are a hit with makers and fiber enthusiasts alike. Imagine using a tiny micro-crocheted hat as a stitch maker for your next hat project? How fun is that?!
My embroidery and bead art is heavily inspired by Tatreez (تطريز)- traditional Palestinian embroidery. This is my way of embracing my heritage and keeping our dying art alive. In the form of wall art, jean patches, and pins.
In addition to using my 20+ years of crochet experience to make and design products. I love sharing content that includes social commentary, day-in-the-life vlogs, and “work with me” sessions to support my ADHD homies. It warms my heart when people laugh at my business name and find joy in what I do. My goal is to spread love, joy, and kindness, creating a space where everyone can feel safe and celebrated. I encourage you to stick around YouTube, Instagram, Tiktok, Twitch, and Facebook. Thanks for stopping by my corner of the internet! And remember, folks, Don’t Call Me Heather :)
If you would to further support my art and help me make more digital content consider sending me a tip. I have so much content in the works, thank you for all your support :)
